CRA Hot Rod Camp #7

August 2-8, 2009

held at 'The Shop' in Rogers, AR

August 20, 2009

CRA Family and Friends,

We have finished CRA Hot Rod Camp #6, which is our last camp for this year and what a pleasure and joy to have had the opportunity to work for the Lord to make a difference in these young guy's lives.  The final build was an awesome little 1932 Ford 3-window coupe!

"The Shop" at the Fellowship Bible Church facilities, located in Rogers, Arkansas, was our build location and they had every thing we needed to be able to work right there.  The grounds were beautiful and you felt the peace and presence of God right away.

We arrived on Friday night, and with the help of a couple of the CRA builder/leaders, Saturday we unloaded the car doing what was necessary to make it ready for the boys to start working on it come Monday morning.  The CRA builder/leaders had an opportunity to attend the morning service before the boys began to arrive Sunday afternoon.

Sunday evening was our welcome dinner and evening meeting.  We go started Monday at 6:00 a.m. and each morning the builder/leaders would gather on the front porch for a time of prayer, to pray for each young man and all that the Holy Spirit would be doing in their lives. Then we had group devotions followed with breakfast, and off to the "The Shop" for the day's activities. The CRA builder/leaders would work with the boys showing them how to put different components together.  As we were assembling 'the '32 3-window coupe' the CRA builder/leaders would help to establish the similarities of building a rod and building a Christian life; and the need for right relationships as well as making right choices in their lives.  We all need structure.  After a great dinner each evening 'Shop Talk' allowed us the opportunity to 'tighten' our personal relationships with the Word and individual life assembly.  This was a very unique camp for each CRA builder/leader.

Bill Moeller communicated with the local newspapers and television stations regarding the camp; and some came out to take pictures as well as interview the CRA instructors and the young men in the camp.  What a great opportunity for these young guys to share about the opportunity of a life time they were a part of.

We want to say thank you again to Fellowship Bible Church for the use of their facilities and church grounds, what a blessing of Love.  I want to thank each CRA builder/leader for their time and ability in helping with the build as well as their participation with morning devotions and shop talk; Dan Jeffries, Rick Eibey, Jim Bever, and Dave Broadbooks. Special thanks to Bill Moeller, and the pastors who participated.  They each did an outstanding job and it was neat to watch how each of their devotions build upon each of the others...just like 'the '32 Ford 3-window build'.  A special thanks to Peter Morris who cam and shared his life story and sang one of his songs he had written off of his CD, "Boys Need Time With Their Dads", what a blessing! And then there are the wonderful ladies who fed us and cared for us...without them we wouldn't have made it.  Thanks Gloria Broadbooks, Kassy Bever, Pam Jeffries, Ida Eibey, and my wife Rickie Wagner.

Then lastly, there would not have been any camp without the great campers: Tyler, Trevor, Nathan, Erik, William and Jacob.  Guys we trust your lives were impacted practically as well as spiritually and that you can in turn take what you have learned and share with others.

We look forward to what God has planned for the CRA Hot Rod Camps in 2010. We hope to see you there!

To God Be The Glory!

"Building Cars—Changing Lives",
