CRA Hot Rod Camp #7
June 13-19, 2010
held at 'The Shop' in Rogers, AR
June, 2010
CRA Family & Friends,
CRA Hot Rod Camp #7, the first camp of the year 2010 is now embedded in our memory banks...and in regards to the camp, "God truly reigned down His blessings upon this camp."
We arrived Saturday afternoon at "The Shop" at Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers, Arkansas. "The Shop" is equipped with everything we need...as well as the presence of God. Sunday was the schedule arrival day for the young men; and they came ready to go and very excited to get started. After they were settled into their rooms, the next thing we know...they had already become friends. Such a great joy to see from the very start!
From the beginning, the young men were open to the morning devotions and evening Shop Talks, learning and sharing their experiences as how to live for God. By Wednesday night, the young men were opening up even more, and some made a deeper commitment in their relationship with Jesus. We laughed, we cried, we all shared together. Our lives were changed and 'Extremely Blessed'. One thing that was very clear in this camp...All the young men were not only a joy, but they were grateful young men and hard workers!! These camps are about young men living for Christ and giving them tools to hold on to; not just during camp...but in days, weeks and months to come.
We had the opportunity to take them to other shops and a personal car collection, but what they learned through all of the experiences that 'IT'S NOT STUFF!!' that makes life work!
What an amazing opportunity God has worked through CRA, allowing us, the CRA Builder/Leaders to pour what we've learned in our lives into these young men at our CRA Hot Rod Camps. [Thank you men Dan Jeffries, Jim Bever, Rick Eibey, Jesse Maciel, Dave Broadbooks and Lane Franklin; for your commitment and allowing God to bring us closer together in one accord.]
On the first day, a young man's ear was healed of an infection and God was also gracious to provide some personal 'life issues' healing. We definitely give God all the Glory for all that was accomplished! As we often say, "its not about the car, it's about their lives!" Three young guys from last years' camp stopped in and what a joy to see the changes within their lives. [God is good all the time!]
Jim Lowe came to show the young men how to do automobile upholstery. Thank you Jim! Certainly, I do not want to forget our ladies who not only fed us, but took great care of us. Gloria Broadbooks, Pam Jeffries, Karen Maciel, Ida Eibey and my wife Rickie Wagner, thank you! These young men made a dramatic impact on the ladies hearts!
Then...to our Campers: Shaye Poe, Shane Poe, John Stone, Brenden Raymundo, Kyle Towler and Joshua Buford...we will never forget you! Onward to camp #8 and to God be the Glory!!!
We will still go for just one!!!
